Hello guys, so I just wanted some advice. Iam a 24 year old lad and I've
Gone to uni staying in student accommodation for the first year. I'm studying Operating Department Practice. The tenancy agreement differs for this course and I was given the keys to my flat and room on the 26th August and my course starts on the 30th, I'm already a bit naffed as I'm having To pay the first week yet I'm not even living there as I'm working my notice at my current employer until the 29th ( I applied for normal accommodation starting on the 14th however there was apparently a glitch) I think that's a lie and they just haven't updated the accommodation application portal for ODP accommodation. ANYWAY my
Main problem I live within a few hours of uni so I went down to take bits to my
Room and have a look around, my
Room is clean and fine however the communal areas are disgusting the floor is filthy there's food everywhere and grime in the cupboards. I feel
As though I'm being mugged off to be honest paying £118.02 and they haven't even made sure it was clean for me, should I complain or wait until my
Course starts and I actually move in ?

I'd definitely complain now. Hopefully they'll get it all sorted before you do move in so you won't have to worry about it then. That's pretty gross, sorry to hear that

is there anyone living there? unfortunately if people have moved in they will just blame it on them and then there is nothing to be done as it's the tenants responsibility to keep it clean

if it's not clean then take photos and send them to the company and insist that they clean it before you arrive, it's possible someone has been in there over the summer and they knew no one would actually live there this week so hadn't cleaned it yet
