    Hi hoben

Great to hear you're interested in studying at BU.

Hopefully some current or past students will respond but in the meantime, you might like to check out our student blog. Our students share their BU experiences and top tips for uni.

    All the best

I don't know the uni that well but the city is so so amazing. Perfect mixture of greenery and city (the nightlife is legendary too). It's one of my uni options too!

Hi! I'm a first year undergraduate student at BU, studying Advertising!

I actually changed my mind about my course and university towards the end of July - my original firm was Cardiff for Journalism, Media and Sociology. I was looking through Clearing courses and the BU one caught my eye. We came down on the 2nd August and I fell in love with the place immediately and later sent an email to my firm and insurance asking them to reject me. BU were great on Results Day despite some issues with my insurance not releasing me and the UCAS system. The day could have been so much more stressful.

Honestly, it's great here! I've loved every second. I have Asperger Syndrome and they've been great even with that. My lecturers are awesome too, you can tell they have a passion for their subject and it's contagious If you want somewhere to go to socialise I'd recommend Dylan's Bar (Talbot Campus) or the Old Fire Station (Lansdowne Campus). The societies are pretty good too (I joined the Harry Potter one and we got sorted into the houses!).

I don't regret changing my mind even though my firm was a Russell Group. There are so many more opportunities here for me.

If you have any more questions please feel free to ask!

I'm in Mercury House which is like halls but not connected to the university so I can't really answer that question from a personal POV... however I have heard that they are nice decent quality

Hello! Regarding accommodation, it's pretty good. I am staying in Cranborne House. The photos from the site really match with how the rooms are IRL. I feel like Cranborne is the least modern looking one but that doesn't mean it isn't good! I quite like it here and having your own bathroom is a game changer, the bus stop is literally in front of the main entrance. Cranborne, Purbeck and Chesil and really close to each other. There is an ASDA near which is like a 5 min walk and the town centre is just 10 mins away, Fire Station and Spoons is a 5 min walk and Cameo a 10 min one. I don't know much about other halls, I have been only to Purbeck which is nice too although the kitchens are fairly small compared to Cranborne.

    Hi there!
I'm a First Year student at Bournemouth studying Marketing! The University itself is really nice, it has loads of coffee shops, places to get food, a santander bank and obviously a library and other facilities for learning! They have student support and friendly reception staff. Recently I have found that I was able to arrange a meeting for someone to go through my essay to help with referencing and structure ect which is really helpful!

Is there any other facilities you would like to know about? - Jess
