Hi! Three days ago I opened my results to discover I had achieved a 'C' grade at GCSE English Language. Albeit, I passed - but I'm afraid that the grade will bar entry to universities. This is especially true for two reasons:
1) I achieved A*-B grades in the rest of my subjects
2) I'm taking English Literature at A Level alongside other essay based subjects
Although the result came as a surprise remarking is off the table as I was a substantial distance from a B grade. Should I resit?

Sorry you've not had any responses about this. Are you sure you've posted in the right place? Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there.
You can also find the Exam Thread list for A-levels here and GCSE here.
Just quoting in Fox Corner so she can move the thread if needed

Yeah. You shouldn't find it too difficult this time round as you'll be working at a much higher grade in your English A Level.
You Ideally want a B minimum in your English Lang GCSE.

C is fine for most unis however there are some that sometimes require a B in maths and eng, eg competitive law courses. It depends on the course and uni however. If you're aiming high maybe it's better to redo it. However a C should be fine, I'm starting a degree in English language this year and I only achieved a C at GCSE (however alevel English was necessary for the course)
