I'm going to UCL this September and will be commuting in (accommodation prices were just way too expensive). I know some universities have societies for commuters but I'm not sure there's one for UCL. I'm a little bit apprehensive about socialising and making friends etc lmao, even though I've been told it'll be fine. I was wondering if there was anybody else who will be commuting in?

    Hi,
How have you found commuting? As I hope to go to UCL this year and I would also be living at home. I am worried that I will sort of miss out on 'uni life' haha.

    Thanks

It's pretty bad hahah, but only because I choose not to stay at uni longer than necessary because the commute is a huge trek and quite draining

I plan to go to UCL next year and wow I could never commute. I'd only be traveling for over an hour but would prefer to live there tbh. How has it been?

I would say it's definitely good to live around UCL if you can but for me, lacking my family has also been quite taxing but I'm living with relatives so it's okay and I can come home to a hot meal (which I don't have to make myself) haha. But commuting isn't altogether too bad but I overdo it and make sure I'm at uni an hour earlier than I need to be.

I would like to live near but its so expensive and considering I can get home in an hour it seems a bit ridiculous ...

Are you a guy or girl? Just wondering

And also, yeah it's insanely expensive but not that bad because the uni subsidizes it compared to other areas of london
