if i go into a hounslow tube station and use my oyster card to get on a tube (costs £1) and then i get off at a station and then go on a train. all this time i havnt needed to use my oyster card because ive not gone through any bariers.

then.. on my return journey i only need to use my oyster card when i get back to the station i started at in hounslow. i think this would cost me another £1 but im not sure. would i be charged the maximum because ive not touched out anywhere?

how does it work?

You will go through a barrier when you switch from the tube to the train.

you normally have to go through barriers between tube and train. Doesn't your finishing station have barriers?
