    Hi all
So im going into my second year of uni and I'm aware now is the time to start looking and applying for placements. I just wanted to see what people experience was with this, is there anything you wish you knew at that time? What type of companies did most people apply to. When do most applications get sent off and when do you start hearing back. If you decide to take a placement year but none of the companies you want provide you with interviews etc can you then change your mind and just go to year 3?Also if there was a company that you previously worked that which you liked could you organise like some impromtu year in work there yourself or does it have to be something advertised? Also if you're applying for placements at businesses which do not work with your uni then do you just apply yourself whenever you want or do you have to inform uni that you're applying for a specific placement? I understand the placement has to be approved by uni but when you're initially applying i mean does it need to be checked by uni first? Thanks
