Hey all. I'll be studying Medicine at UoG this September and was wondering just how badly I'd need a laptop. I don't plan to buy one, but I'll change my mind if it helps a lot.

    Hi!

All courses at Glasgow do not require the use of a personal laptop. Whilst it can be very convenient (e.g. writing reports/essays, using relevant software, etc) it is not necessary. All of the tools you'll need throughout university will be available on campus. You have computer labs and the library if you do need access to software or information.

In case there are more Medicine related reasons, feel free to email the department about their recommendations. Also, there's a forum on here specifically for Medicine students. Whilst much of it is relevant to other universities or about applications, you should still be able to find useful information. You can find the forum here:

    Hope this helps!
