I failed maths but want to do physics at uni. school won't let me continue with the subject, is it possible to retake my AS and do the a2 all this year whilst also being at school. how can I apply as a private candidate? Is it possible to learn all of maths in one year? How do I know my subjects won't overlap on exam day?

If you failed AS maths then you need to reflect on whether you are on the right path. Why did you underperform so severely in AS maths and how realistic is it that you can turn that around without teacher support? Retaking AS while self teaching A2 and completing a full school schedule would be very challenging.
I think it's doubtful your school would accept you as a private candidate. Ask if they would be willing to let you resit the AS but they may well feel you are damaging your chances in other subjects. In theory any school or college can take you as a private candidate, but most don't want the hassle of dealing with external students. Check your examiners web site for private candidate information. They may be able to guide you towards centres that have taken private candidates in the past, if not then you would need to get on the phones to local schools and colleges and ask their exams officers. There are a few private colleges/centres that make a business of private candidate exams, especially in London.
The examiners have their summer 2017 exam timetables on their web sites, you can check to see if there would be any clashes.
