Does anybody know what life at the LSE actually is like? I've talked to people who have studied there, and keep getting mixed responses. I want to study somewhere with a diverse student body, with passionate teachers. I have heard that the LSE is a degree factory, which doesn't sound like an inspiring place to learn at for 4 years. The academic reputation is amazing, but the student satisfaction is so poor - I am considering applying somewhere else.

Well, my personal experience is really good, socially and academically.

Diverse, LSE is the most diverse university in Europe!! So yes.

Passionate teaching is hit and miss, and also very subject dependant.

I've had a good time there, and it inspires me every time!

One of my professors has warned me against applying to the LSE for my post-grad, due to the supposed toxic, fewer-emotions-than-a-twig, environment there. Nevertheless, as the poster above indicates, the perception of social toxicity is relative.

    You might enjoy it.
