Hi all, I start Manchester Met in less than 3 weeks and just had a few things I wanted to ask.

I've played rugby my whole life really but haven't heard a great deal about a Union team there. The League team sound like they are impressive and are in the top division but what are the Union team like? Was just wondering if anyone had played for or against them or anything like that.

Second question is more general. I obviously want to play rugby but I love football as well. I wouldn't necessarily want to play for one of the teams but I enjoy a kick around with my mates and that type of thing. Is that possible at uni and how does all this fit in with lectures/nights out etc.

    Thank you all.

Lad, you're going to have fun.

You can take rugby seriously and just play football for fun.

Yeah most unis have teams and socials, at Edinburgh (I know you're at Man Met but it should be similar) there are teams and socials - team sport is intensive and commitment is necessary, but the host many small games of football (called socials) where you meet tons of people too. Many unis have a system like this.
