Liverpool is a lot cheaper, a solid uni, and in a really good city for students (not too big, not too small). Queen Mary's probably has a better rep but not significantly - ultimately both are RG. It probably just has to come to the question of whether or not you want to be in London.

Hi, I looked at these two universities when choosing. From what I researched, Liverpool is ranked quite low in tables for a Russell group. There also seems to be a focus on postgraduate studies and the student satisfaction seemed low for some reason. However, it's a vibrant city where there'll be lots going on.
Queens Mary recently joined the Russell group I believe and has a solid/growing reputation. It's an expensive area to live and very much a city uni, whereas Liverpool uni has the city but then is part of a small campus.

Liverpool is way cheaper and has a general nice atmosphere, MANY are surprise by how genuinely nice it is. London is ok, but it's way too big and bustly for students imo. Ofc nightlife is ****ing great in London, but it's overpriced and liverpool's nightlife is still very good.

Thanks for the reply.I looked further into the 2 unis for History where Liverpool is ranked 19th and Queen Mary 8th.factoring in what you said about the London city problems I will definitely visit it properly but seeing as it's requirements were slightly lower than Liverpool and my AS grades being ABCD (but am getting AAB predicted) I will probably give Liverpool a pass and look at Unis such as Huddersfield and UEA
