I am planning to study English Literature, History and French at A level. I am stuck for my fourth option and trying to decide between Maths and Media Studies. I enjoy media studies, but worry it will not be useful to me, whereas I think I'll struggle with maths even though it's more useful to have. Please help!

Engligh Lit, History and French are all good choices and well regarded by unis so I'd personally go with a subject you enjoy and therefore would choose media studies. I'm sure others will say maths as it's a 'stronger' subject but I think your other three are strong already

Media Studies. I find that it's best to have a subject you enjoy and have an aptitude for, instead of one that looks good. I picked Biology over Product Design or Classics purely because I thought it was better, would be more useful etc. Bad decision. Besides, at a university convention we were told that if you're not going into a specific industry like medicine or university course (which you don't seem to be) the grade is better than the subject. An A* in Media will be better than a C in Maths. Just do what you'll enjoy, honestly.

I think media, as it goes well with your other 3, and you enjoy it. A subject is only 'useful' if you need it for your course at university tbh.
