I have a dilemma. I am on the verge of leaving school to do an apprenticeship with AAT where I can become a charted accountant without the need for a levels and a degree. I completed my AS levels but didn't do great. I'm still going onto a2 but I feel as if it's not for me because I don't feel the same about completing a levels. I wanted to know your opinions please. Should I leave and persue this apprenticeship? Could you tell me about your personal experiences doing an apprenticeship. Much appreciated.

If you are firm on settling a career in Accountancy then this is the perfect opportunity to start your career off. If you take the route of A-Levels then continue with a degree it would take much longer. I would say go ahead with the AAT course.

I have no experience in this field. Though I do know someone who took the route of doing an AAT course and is now working/studying earning money and a same aged person who is in University studying Accounting to become a chartered accountant. That should explain how quick it would be if you do the AAT course.

    Good luck!
