'can I have a Carlsberg/other brand of beer'

beer probably

As an ex-barmaid I would say a pint of Stella or a Jack Daniels and coke would be pretty normal requests.

have a look on the taps and just ask for two pints of fosters or somthing.

Fosters/Calring is the standard stuff you can't go wrong asking for that

It doesn't really matter. Plenty of blokes order stuff like vodka and coke. Or just order some sort of beer. I don't think it really matters.

Just order a pint, or a JD and Coke or something. If you're 19, you almost certainly will be asked for ID. Make sure you have passport or driving licence as that's all they'll accept in most places.

I don't think you quite get the point:p:

oxleeamox34, are you actually 19? Because I thought normally they get 17 year olds to do this so they can fine them for serving underage people if they don't ask for ID.

im 19, i dont work for the government..i work for an agency that is hired by the actual owner of the pubs to "test" their emplyees.

question: when you ask for a drink, do you have to sit in the pub and drink it? or can you get it in a can or bottle (i.e. not opened) and take it home?

also where is the "under 18s cannot be served alcohol" sign usually placed (so i know where to look)

i apologise if i might sound like an idiot, but when it comes to drinking and pubs my knowledge is literally zero

Well obviously the idea is to see if he gets asked, but if he does, he wants to have ID so he doesn't get manhandled by a rather unpleasant bouncer. And to OP: Pubs are not normally licensed for off-premises consumption.

Usually they only sell you alcohol to drink on the premises.

They usually have a sign by the door relating to age of people. It may just be a we may check you for iD if you look under 21 type of sign.

No you can't take the drink off the premises. Presumably your employer won't require you to actual drink it, otherwise it would have been a bit stupid hiring you:p:
What are you going to do with the drink once you obtain it?

I think you should really test them by taking your pint outside and walk off, see if they try and stop you from nicking the glass!

I was under the assumption it was for a government agency. If it was they'd need someone under 18 otherwise they wouldn't be able to fine the pub as they wouldn't have actually done anything wrong. But since he's being hired by the pub owners to make sure their employees are checking IDs it makes sense that he's over 18.

Put on a grufff manly voice and say:

"Gimme a pint of STELLA, darliiinnnn'"

Stella is a mans drink, they don't call it wife beater for nothing, only men have wives.
