"The killing of a top figure in the terrorist group Islamic State, Abu Muhammed al-Adnani, was the result of an airstrike conducted by a Russian Su-34 bomber, Russia’s Defense Ministry said Wednesday.

The death of al-Adnani, Islamic State’s spokesman and its leader in Syria, in a bombing in the Syrian province of Aleppo was earlier confirmed by the terrorist organization itself."

In an airstrike conducted in the area of Maaratat Umm Hawsh on Tuesday, the Su-34 targeted a group of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) fighters numbering about 40 people, the Russian Defense Ministry reported. Al-Adnani’s death was confirmed by several intelligence channels.

The militant was described as the second most senior IS leader after Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The group’s news outlet, Amaq, reported Al-Adnani’s death on Tuesday, without specifying who was responsible. According to Amaq, al-Adnani was killed “while surveying the operations to repel the military campaigns against Aleppo.

Both the US and Russia have claimed credit for this, and the US has been conducting air strikes in the area. So we can't be sure if it was a Russian or American air strike that killed him just yet.

Why hasn't ISIS or these other Jihadist groups attacked Israel?

They're right next door, but somehow terrorists manage to come all the way to Europe and commit terrorism here.

Israel aren't pussies who roll over and take it, unlike Europe.

RT is pretty unreliable, especially with news about Russia.

This is a good image for Russia because we all know America, Britain and others have been supporting armed militant rebels to overthrow Bashar-Al-Assad

Many who have left and joined other groups and even traded with ISIS

The whole thing is a mess and I believe it's all being done on purpose though perhaps only small numbers of people are aware of it

There are lots of people who have an agenda in Syria, like Turkey and of course Israel which goes ignored.....

Because Europe is the easier target. Israel has a large military capability and not to mention pretty good air defence systems.

Disregarding the air power the have, Israel hold 4170 tanks, 650 SPGs, 300 towed artillery, 48MLRS's with a total active and reserve force holding 790,000

Compare the size of Israel to the UK and compare the forces. We have a lot less personnel and a lot less equipment.

because it means fighting a well equipped and motivated army who aren't afraid to get bloody in defense of their country

Rather than the jihadist's usual target of women, children and the old.

They'd be asking for trouble, Israel will go to the extremes and they've said that. Civilian casualties isn't a word in their handbook (it's pronounced human shield) but I do see your point of why Europe when Israel is supposed to be their enemy

He's a big deal. An operational commander. Probably more important than al-Baghdadi in the grand scheme of things
