Hey, I'm new here so I don't know if this is the right forum.
I've been accepted into Aston University but the accommodation team decided to withdraw my offer after 2 days instead of the 3 that they quoted (I was getting money on the 3rd day) so I've had to re-apply with no guarantee for getting anything.
I've also looked at private accommodation but all except the very most expensive is available (£7700+ per annum).
I don't know if I can stay at home because I don't want to risk SLC revoking my student loan for the first year. They decided to ignore me when I asked them over a week ago.
Any advice and help is much appreciated.

Give the student union a ring. I have no idea what it is like now (it used to be a Guild), but 15 years ago there was a Welfare office that could help you with stuff like this. I am sure there will still be something. Fret not - I am sure they will get something sorted.

you'll find something people will drop out of halls in the first few weeks, there will be people desperately searching for someone to take their spare room in a flat/house
look on your uni forum on here for any offers, contact your accommodation center and ask if you can go on a waiting list/if they have any temporary accommodation while you find something

Not ideal for first year, but have you looking into student houses? There will almost definitely be spare rooms going in student house shares.
7.7k is obviously an extortionate amount for private accommodation and unless you have significant help from parents or savings you will struggle financially if you go for that one.
