Applying for uni after 5th year watch

    • Thread Starter

Hi, I'm currently in 5th year (in Scotland) and I achieved 7 A's (Spanish, French, drama, fashion & textiles, maths, English and biology), 1 B (history) and 1 C (chemistry) in my national 5's. I'm currently taking Spanish, French, human biology, English and drama for my Highers and I'm applying for uni this year to hopefully leave at the end of this year. I'm thinking about applying to Glasgow uni for Spanish & French and Spanish & Psychology and Strathclyde uni for the same 2 subjects. How likely is it to get in at the end of 5th year? Any failure/success stories and tips? (Also my birthday is 13/01/2000 so therefore I'd be 17 by the time of going to uni which is normal for a lot of Scottish students)

Difficult to say, especially with this year being the one with most university places being awarded, I can just imagine how difficult it would be for next year. Especially, for those who don't have their highers yet, such as yourself.

definitely worth a go, but don't get too hopeful.
Do you think parents should charge rent?
