Hi all, my uni is allowing us to pick which day to move into your accommodation- Either 23rd or 24th. I want to move into my accommodation on 24th Sept which is the second day but i feel as if i would have missed out on the "getting to know everyone" stage as everyone would have introduced themselves the day before. It would almost feel like i would be getting in the way as the bonds between people in my flat would have been made that first night. The reason i want to move on the Saturday is that it allows my Mum, Dad and sisters to help me settle in and say goodbye to them rather than the Friday when one of my sisters would be at work at the time of my arrival at Uni and my Mum would be coming back in the morning after a late shift. What do you guys think i should do? Would i be left out if i don't move in on the Friday? Would everyone be cool with me? Has anyone experienced moving into Uni on the second day? Thanks

It might be a bit awkward on the second day as some people will be in their rooms or not there when you move in, the atmosphere won't be as new for them and they'll have all met eachother but it doesn't mean you still can't be confident and go introduce yourself. A day shouldn't make that much of a difference. Do whichever day you'll feel more comfortable with

It will be fine! Over the course of the whole year it's hardly going to make a difference, people do it all the time

    Don't worry about it
