Hindi Language - IB - Help Needed (Self Taught)

Okay so I took Hindi as my 2nd language...self-taught. I am in my final year (summer vacation right now) and I have no clue really what I'm suppose to do. I know my 7 books/plays...but beside that, I really am not sure what I'm suppose to do.

I am not able to find any syllabus or anything...

Please help me! Also if someone can outline as to how self-taught works, please do so - would really appreciate it. I never got any deadlines, due dates, etc etc....

Please assist!

Thanks a lot

I didn't know A2 can be taken as self-taught.

Either way, you should talk to your IBC and get a supervisor. Is there perhaps a teacher at the school who teaches Hindi as home-language students?

I did English and Danish A1, the latter being self-taught.
You need to write a World Literature Project on two of your part 1 texts, comparing and contrasting a certain object of interest, eg. a theme, a symbol etc.
At the end of IB2 you will be examined orally on an "unseen" extract from your part 2 texts (detailed study) which you will have to analyse. During the same session you will need to compose a minor speech answering a question of your choice on one part 4 text (school's free choice, which ironically isn't free for self taught students!). During your written exams you will write two papers: paper 1 being on an unseen extract which you need to analyse, and paper 2 being on two part 3 texts.

Good luck! If you need more help go and tell your IBC to provide you with the exact guidelines for self taught students (in the vade mecuum thing)

Self taught is a bitch, though. I had an awesome teacher in Copenhagen who would correct my essays. Self taught class taught me a lot more about literature than english class did...

Thanks for your replies guys. I suppose I just need to pass this course and do well in other classes...but I'm scared I won't even accomplish that because other students are studying french so much with teachers where as I am all by myself! Hopefully my counselor will provide me with guidelines and I will pass the course!

Thanks for your help guys, really appreciate it.

If anyone has a site that states the syllabus / past hindi exams, please let me know! Most of the past hindi exams on this site I found had expired links :frown:

Hey! I’m afraid I can’t help you with your question, but this thread was made 14 years ago and the syllabus will have changed since then so your IA will be different. It might be an idea to speak to your IB Co-ordinator about your options. Also, is this Hindi A or B as B would be far easier to self-teach?
