Hi, I'm currently working as a support worker for learning disability and I have my A level on Sociology and level 2 Health & social care. I got offered a place on a university for midwifery but I didn't meet the residency requirement so I'm currently stuck on what to do.
I am considering on applying for a health care assistant job while i'm waiting, so the question is will this enable me to go on further with nursing or midwifery?

I think you need a degree to become a nurse or midwife these days, HCA work will give you an insight into what's it like but you will need to be professionally qualified

It's all good experience but you'll still need the degree.*

Do some voluntary work. If they like you they could offer you an entry level job and you can work your way up.

No you can't. To be a registered nurse or midwife you have to do the 3 year degree.
