Experimental archaeology BA courses

Hi

I'm very interested in experimental archaeology and material culture studies. I'm really keen on finding a program with lots of hands-on opportunities in this speciality.

So far I've looked at University College Dublin, University of Sheffield, and Leiden University. Does anyone know anything about these BA programs? Any other suggestions?

BTW: I know UCL and Oxbridge have great programs, but I'm not sure I can achieve entry there.

Thoughts?Thanks!

Because it's popular, archaeology in general produces far more graduates than anyone will ever need. As a consequence, the chance of getting a job in the field (ho, ho) is small and the pay is appalling.

Why do you want to do it?

I know that may be true, but I'm just very passionate about the field. I also believe that the skills one learns in an archaeology BA program (as well as most other BA programs) like problem-solving and team work, etc., can be applied to a variety of job opportunities. BTW: I'm an American and the specialty of experimental archaeology is far less developed here than it is in northern Europe. so, maybe I could bring a new skill set over here to the New World!
