Correcting Sat Nav Map errors

Is this possible?
I have the Tom tom 510 and my house does not show up correctly. My Sat Nav takes me to an incorrect county and incorrect postcode although its adamant that the postcode and location are correct. It annoys me as I have had numerous workmen and delivery people saying they cant see/ find the house. I then have to redirect them to the correct location (Which is someway off their location)

Thanks

you can only suggest it to the big companies like tomtom for their next update - and that releis of peopel upgrading their software

maybe get the exact co ordinates and give them that if they get lost (i think many tom toms can take co ordinates - even if it doesnt direct them it will show them wheer u r on the map)

Wouldn't be too sure if they'll do anything mate

my dad's address isn't on mine (nokia n70 with TT5), or his TomTom One, the postcode gives a different street name so have to set the home location as a GPS co-ordinate. Another mate's postcode throws up the same error you've got, it sends you the wrong side of Mansfield road entirely.

I've got a fairly recent map on mine, and yet all the tomtom ones i've used get lost on the A1 northbound around the M62 link road (Xscape sort of area).

It's possibly OS or the Royal Mail that's at fault. I got a bad postcode going to Pfizer recently, I would personally suggest just warning people in advance. Just tell them to use the address and city name instead.

Your map is out of date, the new Ferrybridge area road is completely different to what it used to be. Tomtom 2006 on was fine.

V 660.1223 :s-smilie: just that my dad's TTOne Europe (bought in the last 6 months) has the same problem. stepdad's TT700 is out of date but that map is older than mine, so they've fixed it now I take it? The road's obviously new-ish, did the old A1 link up with the M62 then or are the higher M1 junctions ex A1?

A1 northbound used to go a totally different route, the other side of the power station. I think that description is correct, it's not a route I go on often but enough to know the huge changes. I was 99% sure they had fixed it on my version (TTOne Europe; but my parents currently have it on holiday so can't check).

It's a very new change anyway so it's not fair to blame the maps and it's obvious what you do there anyway

It's been there a couple of years that's all, I guess tomtom can't have the most up-to-date version if stock's been sat on the shelf but it just shocked me the first time up to Newcastle when it was telling me to turn right, turn right on the outside lane of a 3 lane motorway stretch lol

I could be wrong on the TTOne front, but i'm fairly sure my dad said he had the same problem. Not the end of the world though I guess just a nuisance.

edit: my bad, January 06 apparently (for the Ferrybridge bypass)! feels longer than that!

The ferrybridge bypass is great! Freaked me out the first time though, as I didn't know they had built it and wondered what the hell I had done when the power station was on the wrong side! (I'd not been up there for a couple of years)

As for Sat Navs, don't use one to take yourself to mine either, it sends you to a house 2 miles away on another road. They re direct all the delivery drivers here now!
