I didn't go to kiss him because he didn't give me any signals that it was what he wanted!! He's a doctor and at the moment working about 65-70hrs a week...is it doable?

You don't always have to wait for him to do stuff. If you want to kiss him, go ahead and try it, and if he doesn't want it he'll back off. And even that doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't like you, just that you're going too fast for him. I don't really see the problem. :s-smilie:

Stop reading so much into things. He's now kissed you and shows that he's very interested, so who cares why he didn't make a move on the first date? Perhaps he was hoping to wait and see back then.

Yes, buying a present for a birthday is fine. You would buy friends birthday presents, so why not a guy you've pulled? He isn't gonna text you saying that he thinks of you all the time and the next back off and say "Whoa you're giving me a... birthday present!? WHOA this relationship needs to slow WAY down!"
