I know it is not advised to take a car, but I definitely need to take mine. I am moving into Henry Price Residences which does not offer parking spaces. Is there anywhere I can park out of the city that I can cycle or bus to? The car will just be sitting there during the week and only used on weekends (roughly once a fortnight) to drive back to Bedford as I have commitments . Does anybody know whether I could park in a space on another residence, if they were not being taken up?

If anybody knows of any streets on the outskirts of Leeds that offer free on street parking, could you name them for me?

    Many Thanks,

    James

I wish you the greatest luck in your mission. As a general rule, there aren't enough spaces for people to park on their own streets, never mind having someone else parking on their road as well. Also safety of your car might be an issue, if you leave it on the outskirts there are some 'less pleasant' areas (I live on a council estate, and I sure as hell wouldn't leave a car here for extended periods of time when I can't see it) shall we say. Quite a lot of the roads are permit holders only, and around the uni itself I see ticket inspectors daily, so 'just hoping for the best' doesn't really work. I'm not sure of any over night car parks either. And those that I DO know are about £30 a day. Is there no way you could possibly get a train back down to Bedford? I am 100000% sure there won't be space at other residences, as it works on a first come first served permit basis and you can only apply for your own residence.
