I'm 20 and I have a lisp. I don't really think about it often since I can't even hear it in my own voice unless it's a recording. But recordings and the odd time someone mentions it/struggles to understand me I feel a bit self conscious over it. What do you think about them?

I think lisps are really cute on little kids. I only know one guy with a lisp and that's Kripke and he's hilarious

I have one and hate it. It stops me speaking up in class because I worry other students will laugh. I have a 10 minute presentation to do in one of my modules and I'm feeling so scared about standing up in front of everyone and subjecting myself to their ridicule.

That sucks. Mine's never really knocked my confidence over stuff like that, and I've never really been made fun of because of it. In school people would maybe get me to say certain words or something but was never actually bullied/made fun of because of it.

I've been thinking about seeing a speech therapist about mine but I don't know if I'll bother just now. Don't let it get you down too much!
