I'm depressed at the moment I suffer from schizophrenia and have been struggling since my GCSE's i got decent grades and in A levels my teachers pulled me out my exams. I don't consider my self dumb or anything but with 3 U's Im seriously giving up but during the two years I built my own computer with the money I made by helping people build there own Pc's as well as cleaning fixing and speeding up. I applied to a foundation computing course this year to a few and none would give me the chance other than Buckingham University however they are private and student finance will only support 6000 however I will need to pay the 3000 to the uni now before the term starts. my parents don't work due to health issues. now no other uni will probably accept me as it is way to late and I am already 19 so I don't feel like I have time and I honestly need change in my life Im sick of sitting at home and going to colleges . can some one please just help i've come so far from thinking of killing my self over the last two years at this point i think im gonna relapse

Is the problem that the 6000 from student finance won't come through in time?
Because if so you can talk to the uni and tell them your situation. They may be able to hold off billing you until you have the money.

I'm sorry things seem so low your you right now xx just pm me if you feel like chatting xxxx

Theres a poster on TSR I think it might be secrey squirrel, its a regular and they are schizophrenic and in higher education.

Its unclear from your post what happened during your A levels. Did you get 3 U's becayse they pilled you out or becayse your marks werent high enough? What did your teachers say?

I cna see why they wouldnt give you a chance its becayse you havent made any academic process and they need at least basic A levels to justify you taking a degree course.

I think you are avoiding the obvious, which isnt to go to Buckingham, but to resit your A levels or consider doing BTECS which have less exam focus. the other alternative is to do an access course. That way you could apply to Unis again it would just take 1-2 years, but better than going somewhere you cnat afford or is only selected becayse its the only place wiling to taje your money.

Thousands resit, so theres no need to panic or feel pressurised. the time goes by quicjly and it will give you the chance to prove you cna do well. You are thinking its a race when it is not. Go to uni when you are ready that means mentally and academically. College is a means to an end and a foundation course has similarities.

Stop thinking so narrowly, but look at the bigger picture, dont panic and understand you cna get where you wnat but it may take a little longer. Whether you reach your target depends on you and your willingness to put in the work.

If you believe you are going to relapse then talk to your helath worker, MIND or and your GP. A lot of the pressure you feel is self exerted. University may not have all the answers you think it has.

Honestly, my advice would be to do your A level exams and then apply to university. You'll feel so much better for yourself and can put all of this behind you. As for your schizophrenia, I assume you're getting professional help? I hope your recovery is speedy

    Good luck
