My school have sent out letters to those deemed worthy of a remark, and I haven't received one, even though I was 2 raw marks off of an A* in Literature and have emailed my school multiple times. OCR won't let me request a remark unless it's through the school. *shakes head and then shrugs in acquiescence* does anybody know if there is anything I can do?

There's a simple solution to this - blow up the school.

I don't think there is, unfortunately.

Legally your school have to consider any remark request you make. JCQ rules state that the school must make you aware of your options and as long as you know that your grade may go up, down or stay the same they should process the request. Your school is breaking the rules by not talking to you and you are entitled to a re-mark (unless there is good reason not to) for whatever subject you like. You will have to pay for it though. I would download a candidate consent form from the JCQ website and take this with payment to your school. Ask for a copy of their appeals process (which they must have) and then appeal the decision not to support your application if they still refuse.

You should have been made aware of all of this before you sat any exams. They MUST have an appeals process, and give you good reason not to support your application.

If you are very close to the next mark there is NO good reason not to allow it if you are willing to pay.
