    Hi everyone

I'm starting an access course next week and plan to go uni next year. The social work course at the uni I want to apply for(dmu) requires applicants to have 3 months full time experience relevant to social work course or 450 hours.

I intend to be a children's social worker specialising in child protection, hopefully. Would the best type of work experience for me to get be anything that involves children or does it need to be more specific to the course?

I have applied for a few vacancies on do.it.org.uk and I was also going to talk to my children's school about some voluntary work if possible, but would this be too basic? Does the work need to be more complex than a school helper on maybe lunchtimes etc?

    Thank you for any advice

Every uni I applied to requested work experience. However life experience is also valuable. I recieved all 5 of my offers with no work experience only life experience.

    Bernardos as a befriender
    RAF for a case worker.
Your local youth and children's centres good luck.
