Accommodation Nightmare

I'm getting seriously worried. I got my place at SOAS through Clearing, and now I'm struggling to find a place to live. I want Dinwiddy, but they're full and though I'm on the waiting list I'm not hopeful. I had a provisional place at Urbanest St. Pancras but let it go as I thought it was exorbitantly expensive and they only let you take a 51 week contract, which I know I won't use. Now I don't have anywhere! I want to stay in student halls the first year, I don't want to have to live in a tiny studio in some bog end of London miles away from anywhere and anyone. Any suggestions? Has anyone ever actually made it off the Dinwiddy waiting list? Help!!!
