Did you take 3 or 4? or does it depend on the school because previously it was assumed that everyone would take 4 AS?

surely if you only take 3 then the new AS would have to be harder to compensate for less subjects?

    Thanks

For the new a levels you do the exams after two years so there is no AS level. This is why most students will now do 3 as they can't drop one subject after one year (well they can but won't get a qualification from the subject).

Ok it can be quite confusing.
I did 4 this year and all of them were the new spec, and my college decided to do the AS qualification (some colleges don't do that) so I get 40% of the UMS (I think) I got for the subject I'm dropping towards A2 but since I'm carrying on with the other 3 next year, my grades are "wiped" as soon as I start the course. I heard some unis have a cheeky peak at the AS grades but since like 50% of colleges didn't do them they don't matter too much
