Hi everyone, I'm new around here. My name is James, I'm 17 and just about to start A2 at my school's sixth form. I am studying ICT, Media and Sociology, I have just finished my first year (AS) and I ended up with ABD.

I am unsure as to whether to apply for a part time job that is advertised at my local B&Q and work 11:00-19:00 on a Saturday while doing my A2. Is it wise to have a job while doing A2? Most people at AS has a job and as I'm getting older I notice that sitting around the house with no income is getting a little tedious. Should I go for it?

I should also ask, does anyone here work for B&Q? If so, what are they like to work for? How do they treat students like myself? Is it also wise to work for B&Q on the checkouts if you don't have much knowledge of DIY.

    Thanks everyone in advance !

I'd encourage you to apply. 6 hours a week is fine, and it's all on the same day, which is great. Sadly I don't know anything about B&Q specifically, though. Good luck!
