    This is well annoying me.

I could adjust it before I put Vista on it, but since I have got rid of all of the Acer junk on it I cant adjust the brightness, and its really dark and hard to use when the AC cable isnt plugged in.

    Any ideas?

Is there not a function key that adjusts the brightness?

Is there any power saving options? It'll probably be under that. Will have a profile for "Battery" and one for "AC Power" etc.

Go to Control Panel, Classic View, Power Options and change the "plan settings" for which ever one you are using. When you click that there should be a slider thing to change the screen brightness for battery and ac.

Like I said, there's no option to do this anywhere!

    Bloody hell.

Today is the first time I have ever noticed my keyboard has a FN key. FN+across arrow adjusts the brightness on this laptop.

Perhaps I was looking too hard into why it wasn't an option in my settings.

    Unbelievable.

Although to be fair I dont look at my keyboard at all, so I wouldnt notice it if I wasnt already aware of it.

    Crazy!
