Is it possible for me to redo just my A2 at a college/sixth form. My grades were really bad as I got and E (biology), E (psychology), D (Government and politics). Furthermore, the spec for Biology and Psychology have changed so I don't even know if colleges/sixth forms even do it the old specs anymore. Can someone PLEASE HELP!

Have you considered revising independently and retaking exams as a private candidate next year. Exams for the old specifications will be available but teaching for them is very unlikely to be on offer. Having completed your A levels my understanding is a college/sixth form needs to be teaching you brand new subjects to get government funding for you but I may be wrong and you'll only find out for sure by contacting your school/college and any others in the area.

What do I apply to retake the exam privately?

I retook my A2's as a private candidate at my sixth form so I had to pay for all the exams (you can check the prices online), and I revised at home independently since I knew the basics already. All i had to do was talk to the Exams Officer. If you're retaking only A2's you're fine in terms of the specs, but I don't think you can retake AS's.

Just ask your exams officer from college if possible. They can enter you for the exams and then in the summer you can sit them as an external candidate. Resits can be costly though- just a heads up

But I don't go to that sixth form anymore, do I still do my retake through them?

I would still ring up and ask. I don't go to my 6th form anymore and I asked to be an external candidate. I was told that resits for both AS and A2 are possible.

What if that doesn't work, how else would I be able to apply for my retakes?

Other schools or colleges may be able to let you re-sit. Just call them up and ask if they would be centres for you as you are applying as an external candidate.

If aqa is your exam board you can see the names of colleges and 6th forms that allow external canidates on their website.
    Hope this helps.
