I'm a closet gay guy and I was talking to my (gay) friend back before Easter one night about how I'm worried about losing my virginity and want to lose it to a friend I trust, he offered to take it for me that night but we ended up hanging out with our friends all night instead. We then spent the next few months doing a whole "lets do it tonight" then it doesn't happen and when i left university for the summer holidays I sent him a message telling him that I want to lose my virginity to him and can't think of anyone else I want to take it. He replied 2 weeks later saying he doesn't see it happening unless he is incredibly drunk. I talked about the situation with my best friend about it the other day and promised her that I would try once more and then move on if it fails and she agreed to help me, but I'm scared it won't happen and I don't have a backup plan at all which scares me immensely! I just want this to work out but don't know how, it'd be a one time thing and I wouldn't entertain the idea if I felt it would risk our friendship in any way.

To be honest sounds like he is mucking you around, I would not bother anymore with him.
