    Hey guys!

I have just enrolled to college last week onto the btec level 3 course, and I kind of know little about the course. Is anyone else doing it?
I just wanted to ask a few things. Firstly, what are my degree/job options after completing this course? How is the coursework like? How hard/easy it to achieve DDD/D*D*D* in this course?

btw I want to go into child nursing or theater nursing?- is this course ideal for my health and social care course?

    thanks

    Hi!

I am doing the BTEC level 3 diploma course, so I will do 3 units fewer than you, but I can still be of some help.

Post-college options are quite wide with this course. Anything from nursing, to physiotherapy, to social worker. You would have no problem getting onto a nursing course with this qualification.

The coursework can be quite hard-going, I'm going to be honest. There is an awful lot of it, and the deadlines can often be quite tough to meet. You need to be comfortable with writing essays, because that is what you will spend a lot of the next two years doing!

In terms of getting the distinctions, it all depends on how much work you are prepared to put in as to how easy it is. I received my tutors feedback for one piece of coursework today, and that was at a distinction; however that has taken me 48 hours working on the actual essay, as well as any additional preparation time. (Microsoft word tells you how long you've been editing a document for, that's how I know!)

It is a tough course at the time, and throughout the two years you will feel pressurised quite a lot, however at the end I reckon you'll feel glad to have done it. I do have exams in my course, 2 at the end of year 12, and so it is worth checking whether or not you will be sitting those exams, or if you will be on the old specification.

The best thing you are likely to get out of this is work experience. I do not get this as part of my course, due to the fact I am sitting it at a sixth form and not a college, however most colleges will give you hundreds of hours of work experience which is exactly what universities want.

    I hope this helps
