    I would really like to be a constultant doctor one day or a gp but one thing i don't particularly like is trauma doctors in a &e. I really wouldnt like to do that so now i'm not sure if i would still be able to apply to a medicine course?

    What do you mean that you "don't particularly like" trauma doctors? You don't like the doctors, or you don't like the idea of the job they do?

    You don't have to work in acute medicine if you don't fancy it (though you may surprise yourself - I didn't think I'd enjoy it either as a student, and I actually loved my A+E placement though I still don't think it's the career for me). But you probably will have to spend some time in A+E as a student - the length of the placement will likely vary from med school to med school (it was 4 weeks for us, and then another 4 weeks on anaesthetics/ITU) - but to the best of my knowledge you won't be able to avoid trauma altogether as a medical student.
