    Hi,

I've been having some thoughts about where I'd like to study next year. My mum has been pushing me to look at Cambridge, but I'm doubtful that I'd even get a second look. I know that where I go is ultimately my decision, but I have been giving it some thought.

I'm intending to study linguistics and Cambridge is the top place for this.

For AS I studied, English Language: B - 2 marks off an A,
    English Literature: C - 5 off a B,
    ICT: E - 3 off a D.

Due to my personal circumstances with having a lot of time off with an illness (my attendance was less than 50% at one point), I have been predicted ABB. I also come from an underperforming sixth form.

I know my AS grades are pretty poor, but I'd just like someone to tell me that it would be unlikely for me to get an offer so I'm no longer wondering.

    Thanks!

Even if your grades were AAA, with the exclusion of at least two facilitating subjects, getting into Cambridge would be difficult.

There's no harm in trying, but make sure you have also applied for some safe universities to make sure you don't get five rejections.

    Ask Peterhouse - 2017 entry

But note, the typical offer requirement is A*AA
