Hi, I was wondering if anyone could advise me. I'm currently a second year student who has too repeat three modules to pass onto the third year. I've never failed a year before and I am unsure how to go about applying for student finance. Do I just apply as normal? Also do I still get full a maintenance loan and supplementry grant? I know that I don't have to pay the full tuition fee just the modules I'm re-taking. It's all confusing😩😩

Speak to your student records/registry team to find out how they're going to report your repeat year to the SLC. Then update your application this year to match what they're going to say.

If your repeat year is only classed as part time then you might be only able to apply for a tuition fee loan - but if you're part time and repeating less than 50% of your credits then you wouldn't be able to apply for a loan and would have to cover the tuition fees yourself.

If your repeat year is classed as full time then you'd be able to apply for a full tuition fee loan and maintenance loan.

Thank you! My course is classed as full time, I spoke to student finance yesterday and they said that I'd still get my grants and loan it'll just be the tution fee that gets updated once my university update my record which is being done☺️
