Germany is appalled and astounded that UN Peacekeepers have been targeted by rebel Lebanese groups. Last month six peacekeepers were killed by a bomb being targeted at their vehicle. Germany hopes a solution will be reached and peacekeepers will no longer be in danger of attack, as their efforts are vital to helping restore peache in the Middle East.

The WFP appreciates the concern and the importance that Germany have given to this issue.
Further, The WFP understands the complexity of the issue having suffered simliar attacks in Darfur.

Egypt is dismayed that UN PKF are being bombed. This attack has clearly been carried out by Hezbollah with the aim of kicking out the PKF so that it would be easier for Hezbollah to carry out their terrorist activities.

Egypt vehemently condemns this attack and hopes that the perpetrators will be brought to justice. Meanwhile, the PKF should not be deterred from carrying out their duties and Egypt does hope that they will continue to carry out their operations in Lebanon, but with an increased scope of power, which will include shooting when any danger is sensed.

What a shock. Hezbollah hides behind them last year and tries to kill them this year. Typical.

Is there any evidence it was them, or is the US representative just saying "all Lebanese are Hezbollah"?

Please, I'm not even the first one in this thread to suspect Hezbollah:rolleyes:

Islamic militants have praised the attack, so it's not exactly a leap to suspect them, is it?

Albania would like to express its disgust at the despicable and cowardly attacks on men of peace. Albania expresses hope that it doesnt happen again.
