Nope, mine were relatively painless but unless it really needs to go, they probably won't do anything. go to the doc for painkillers if you must.

Wisdom teeth generally hurt for everyone when they come through, take some painkillers and keep your mouth clean (wash out with hot salty water to soothe). If you go to the dentist they will give you a proper clean. They will only take out wisdom teeth if you don't have enough room.
Did other peoples' wisdom teeth all come through at once?
I've had one that the dentist described as "partially erupted" since I was about 14/15 but I have no others. The dentist said it was strange for that to happen so early, but it's nothng to worry about. It wasn't, and still isn't painful.
How old were other people when they started to get theirs through?

I've got 2 partly through in the last 3 years (I'm 23). No sign of the other two, and the two I do have are only halfway out, and one is pointing sideways. I think it's relatively normal for them to come out in a not-entirely-normal fashion. As long as they're checked regularly, the dentist will spot any potential problems
I was 18 when I got mine...
My top left wisdom tooth has started to break though the gum, it hurts loads at the moment. I'm gonna try get some bonjela to put on the gum itself because it's so tender. I agree with what people are saying, if it is unbearably painful try and see your dentist/doctor who may be able to prescribe some painkillers to ease the pain slightly x

Oo wisdom teeth hurt :frown: I had one coming through that was sort of in the gum, looked gross and hurt like hell  It only lasts for a bit though, a few days, maybe a couple of weeks. I think the pain comes periodically though. Paracetamol/ibuprofen and Bonjela! It's best not to take them out unless they're gonna cause problems, like if they're impacted or going to affect the neighbouring teeth, or causing an infection in the gum or something.

Didn't realise you were my age, things you find out!

Anyway often you'll find these dentists are trying to get as much money out of people as possible, you don't need to have your wisdoms out as soon as they form. Only if they're causing you trouble, just apply a bit of common sense here and you should be right

I don't think they'll take them out unless there's an obvious reason. At least that's what my dentist said to me, the x-ray I had on mine suggests (to me) that the bottom ones will come through crooked but she was quick to say that there was every chance that they'll come through fine because there's enough room. She could have played on my worries and said she'd take them out but she didn't.

And for the record i'm 21 and it's been just over 2 years since I first started having pain, not much pain but more discomfort. For now it's just the one and it looks like the bottom ones will come through first because the top ones on the x-ray were still quite far back.

When do Wisdom teeth usually come through? As far as I know, I haven't had any come through. (I'm 20 at the moment)

Mine came through really early, im 17 and this is my last one. I think they started when I was about 14.

Im 17 and all mine have come through already.
I was shocked when my dentist told me cause they didnt hurt at all, i didnt even realise.

Mine started when they were 17, they're all through now and I'm 19. They're aligned nicely on the bottom row, but not so great on the top, I can't even use the top right one.

Mine is coming, and ya it's killing me :frown: Luckyly not during exam times

My first one is coming thorough, and it's DRIVING ME INSANE!

I've got one coming through on the bottom, but I think that's the only one I've got. Sometimes it really hurts, I'm gonna have to try Bonjela I think. I now understand why babies cry a lot when they're teething!

Mine are coming out at one side, it was a bit uncomfortable feeling for the first 3 day, but now it's OK. I am gonna have them extracted next month.

On the other side, I alreadt had them extracted. I am usually afraid of dentists, but found the whole process strangely exciting. I didn't feel anything and it was fun to see my dentist (and she is quite hot, btw ) getting two of them out. Took maybe two minutes in total. It got a bit swollen after that, and the bloody aftertaste was quite annoying, but all reasonable. Surprisingly, the worst thing was removing stitches

1 of my top ones is through, and the other is 1/2 way through, but the others haven't comethrough at all. They both really hurt when they were coming through.

I'm 18 now and they probably starting coming through about a year and 1/2 ago!

I got all of my wisdom teeth when I was 16! (I'm 17 now)
