ok so I'm in year 10 now and (just started a couple days ago) and I am doing my GCSE's. of course the compulsory subjects are English language, Science (additional), Maths, PE (Core PE). and my options that I am going to start studying are History, Food, and Art. My first question is how long do these courses last for? Do they last for a year? i just want to make sure. And my second question is do i definitely do the subjects i chose for year 10 again when i go to year 11? or will year 11 be different and i'll have fresh choices again? Thanks
I'm really scared Watch

Normal GCSEs last for 2 years, you start in year 10 and take the exams in Summer in Year 11. However, there are such things as short course GCSEs which only last one year and are worth half of a GCSE. Some schools also let you take GCSEs really quickly and finish them in one year, or take them early.
Almost all GCSE courses last 2 years (year 10 and year 11), but if youre unsure, ask your teacher whether your courses are "short course GCSEs"
