Just wanted a bit of input from some of you guys:
Had about 20 lessons so far, took a break for my finals, and as yet haven't resumed.
Not sure what I'm doing next year but would like to do a bit of travelling, so my question is, would you recommend continuing learning, (hopefully) passing before I leave, or holding off till i return?
Just a bit unsure ATM

I guess what I'm wondering is what I'll be like (should i pass) driving after a prolonged gap, or whether It'd be better do do it when I get back?

Do it as soon as you can, it should only take a few mins to get used to it again

You can have a few refresher lessons and you should be fine after your gap year. Plus it looks good on CVs when you start applying for jobs that might require travelling.
