Entrance exams will probably have a higher weighing on whether you'll be invited to interviews or not. Most people will have very similar GCSE grades ( assuming that the above are GCSEs!)

    Are these GCSEs?
    For which course?
    What are your A-levels?

Bottomline: GCSEs have little impact on getting an interview.

Edit to add: and just to note the interview is one more set of information to add to your application. It's no more, or less, important than any other.
