this might sound really stupid
but next week im going to give blood for the first time and after i have a party to go to....

sooo i just wanted to know if i can drink after..or will it make me ill or something?

Definitely no drinking. You will barely be able to stand up.

I gave blood for the first time last year and, stupidly, decided that it would be good to go out with some friends. I nearly fainted if I stood for more than a minute or so. And drinking is highly discouraged. You will have just had a pint (or half a pint?) of blood taken from your system. It's a very bad idea to concentrate what's left with alcohol.

If you do go out (which is allowed!), just take it easy. Sit down and socialise, rather than jump around like a drunken lunatic.

And trust me, you'll feel better for having geiven blood than you would if you didn't and just got drunk instead.

Well if I remember rightly they dont recommend you drink for 24 hours after giving blood. It wont make you ill but I think its a lot easier to get drunk... which may not be a bad thing :p:

You also might feel a bit fatigued after giving blood so take it easy on the dance floor too
