It's easy to forget that okay, your parents might be there making things difficult but at the same time they're kind of having to let go as well, so it's not easy for them either
Drinking is a voluntary part of the week, yes, but it's only for a certain type of people (to drink with others, play games, go out clubbing etc) and don't feel the pressure to do it - I definitely resist it . But also.. don't be too close minded unless there's a genuine reason eg religious beliefs, too expensive etc. You can still be sensible about it and drink, even if it's just in small quantities.

Dont let your parents stay with you because you will always be that weirdo who had a parent at freshers. If you're a girl its not as bad but its still pretty damn weird.
