I need a few good songs to pull out when someone asks me to choose a song at a party. Nothing too controversial or mood-killing, but can be unusual. Just need good music ideas.

I have a problem in that I'm rubbish with modern bands - I'm trying to listen to more, and obviously I'll choose my own favourites in the long run, but meanwhile I don't want to be that person who just says 'I don't know', and looks really boring. It's also a good way to discover new music.

    Any help is appreciated

    A few examples:
    Light It Up-Major Lazer
    Roses- Chainsmokers
    Deep down Low- Valentino Khan
    Moaning Lisa Smile- Wolf Alice

As you can see from the different genres of the songs it depends on the mood, atmosphere and people at the party. As you listen to more songs you'll get a better feel as to what will sound best when. Hope I helped
