    My son got a grade B in physics , chemistry and biology does anybody know the difference in the boundaries from a grade B to A? He did unit 1-4 ?

    type in google *exam board name* GCSE 2016 grade boundaries and you can find them there. there is also an AQA UMS converter (UMS are the numbers on the results sheet) so you can see how close he was off the grade A boundary.

    Got it now he is 1 ums mark off A but 4 raw marks off A , still worth a remark ?

    Ah I thought 1 mark was multiple UMS marks. If you're sure that it is 4 raw marks off an A, then I don't think so, sorry. Especially because its a specific mark scheme rather than a generic mark scheme this would be difficult. If you are willing to pay for a remark (or if your sons school will pay) then its worth a try but I wouldn't get your hopes up. A B is still very good

    1 UMS is NOT 4 raw marks. If he is 1 UMS away he is VERY close. A single RAW mark would tip him over. Raw marks are always lower than UMS, so for example on Physics unit 1, 45 RAW marks converts to 89 UMS. 20 RAW Marks converts to 61 UMS and so on.....

    Thanks if you need 320 ums he is one off he got 319, I don't really understand the raw marks .. School is looking in to it for me to have it re marked .. Thanks for help everyone ...

    that means he is very close, worth a remark if you can don't waste any time though, i think there is a deadline for remarks, good luck to you both
