If I were to resit 1 unit from one of my AS exams, and I were to perform lower than I did before, would by highest grade be considered or the most recent?

    * Typo in question, I know ' Re sitting 1 AS exam'

Highest grade is honoured for resits. Most recent for remarks.

Hi, thanks for responding. I had a chat with my teacher and she said that they take your most recent grade for resits? Is the highest grade achieved for resits the case for all exam boards? This is for an AQA subject by the way.

    You're welcome.
She is incorrect. It's the highest grade achieved. The exam boards all have the same rules.

    See Edexcel's guidance:
You can resit our Edexcel A level units as many times as you want and request a new overall grade. Providing you've been entered under the same Unique Candidate Identifier (UCI) number we'll always use your best result when calculating your overall grade.

Thank you Do you know where I could find the AQA statement on this to show my teacher?

Your exams officer should know this. Your teacher should too. You can just ask your teacher to phone AQA and ask them or their subject leader from AQA.
