I'm applying to Newcastle Sheffield Durham and Leeds to do medicine in the hope of being a psychiatrist. I haven't done work experience in a hospital only in a pharmacy and a junior doctor day. Will I be at a serious advantage as I can't get experience in a hospital near me ? Can anyone who's already applied tell me what they are looking for in a personal statement, anything specific to any of those universities. Thanks

First off, search out and read their admissions policies so you know what weight they are putting on PS versus other components.

For instance, Newcastle/Durham are still doing an academic screen, then shortlisting for interview based on UKCAT score. Your interview performance will determine whether you get a place or not. PS is not relevent, they don't use it for selection. So basically, be honest and don't plagiarise
Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
