Yes it was, thats why I said it.

No thanks.
Ooooooh, mono brow.

That's a new one! Not heard that one before.

Don't you drive a Corsa oil burner anyways?

Besides, it could be worse, I could've just brought a filter for £150.

What? Lots of graduates can be classed as losers. Still living at home in mid twenties, with a crap car, makes you a bit of a loser.

I could go on for along time, but instead I'll cut it short.

The standard airbox on all cars is not as restrictive as people think, a lot of time was spent on it.

Adding a cone induction kit is less restrictive, yes, but it sucks in a lot of warm air. Warm air isnt good for engines, the colder the oxygen they take in the better it can be compressed, and the more the bhp. Some cars suffer from heatsoak more than others due to where the filter is
Warm air is not good for engines and cold air is better that is true. However the reason for this is different to yours, Ryan. The reason cold air is better is because cold air is more dense which means more fuel particles can be held by the air, there is more oxygen in cold air as there is cold air is denser. Thus, more fuel + more oxygen = more power.

Heatsoak obviously means the opposite.

Air actually gets hot when it is compressed due to the friction.

Hope this clears it up!

Do you think there is any point in induction k+n kits then?

for my new 1.4 corsa d.
So you bought a K+N filter thing for £130 and didn't even bother buying one that would fit your car? Riiight
That would just make you even stupider than paying £130 for a filter kit for your car

P.S. have you declared it to your insurance? x

can i just say that you leave uni roughly in your mid twenties anyway so that is irrelevent, being a graduate means you will get a better job (in theory), and so makes you not a loser if you plan on usuing your qualifications.

also cone filters on common (4 cylinder) engines is pointless really, just stick with an uprated panel filter and all will be well. the only times cones can be possibly "needed" is when the engine requires a vast amount of induction. which our cars just dont have,

That is your definition.

AT came away with the statement

"All the neighbours think I is the man init coz have loudest car on street yo."

then never said anything else. Just

Most of my mates were 21, some 22. Dont see how that is 'mid-twenties'. I graduated when I was 20, FYI.

Pointless, but I like the change in noise. That's all. Was worth it, especially when 100quid dosent really mean much to me anyway.

Of course, they sound brilliant but to get the performance aspect you have to also tune the ECU and the engine itself. It is a good starting point to tune an engine, however it is not a plug and play solution if you want to get the most from it.

Next step would be a full sports SS steel exhaust...help the engine breath.

You can always locate the cone near the wheel well and get a bit of tubing, direct cold air on the filter...

Apparently "d" can now be used to denote the newest (ugliest ) model of corsa.

Although personally I wouldn't go around saying I had a corsa d, as d is usually used to mean a NA diesel engine. Bleuch.
